The Most Beautiful Sunday of This Year - So Far

Oh, how we wait for months and months for a morning like this!

It always seems to take a little bit longer than one would like for Spring to commit to taking residence.

But now... the countryside has been washed clean by last week's showers.   There is something so beautiful about the early morning light... how vibrant it makes the grass look!

And the grass grows right before our eyes.  Just like that, mowing season has arrived!

the ponies out for their grazing time... across the fence from Moonie and the Littles

Everywhere I look,  bud and blossoms are popping!

If we can just get these trees pollinated before a heavy frost takes the flowers - we might end up with a decent peach harvest this year!

Yesterday morning was perfect for finishing up my spring garden tasks.  I planted breakfast radishes (the long, mild kind), two types of carrots (orange and purple), 3 types of leaf lettuce (green and red), spinach, beets, and peas (to grow up the older tunnel trellis)
Meanwhile, everything in the greenhouse is growing like crazy.  It's amazing what a little sunlight and water can do!

Everywhere we look, there is something eye-catching.

As I kneel by the dry lot fence taking the above photo, someone comes over to the fence to say hello.  Well, good morning Miss Daphne!  You are looking quite fine this morning.  She would normally be braying at the top of her lungs asking for a meal, but not now - she just came in from her pasture time.  She is content to just chat for a bit.

Meanwhile, to my left, Annie and Moll are having an exchange.  Annie is not terribly fond of cats, but she seems to tolerate Moll the best.  Unlike Forrest, she never seeks out their company.

Moll is a happy gal now that gardening season has arrived.  She spends a lot of time out in the garden with me.  It's our special place!

Speaking of Forrest... here is what he was up to...

"Wanna play?"  Somehow, these two have totally different ideas of what play might look like.
Forrest:  "Let's play chase!"
Ollie:  "No, let's play stomp the puppy!"

Red, on the other hand was more interested in showing me his beautiful coif!  Gotta love those blue eyes and those tousled ginger locks!!

As for picture-worthy...  Is there anything lovelier than a pig framed by daffodils?

I love our old log cabin... but especially when the shrubs nearby are in bloom!

Post-card worthy, I think!

As for our weekend... we had a fairly quiet one - thoroughly enjoying the chance to be outside without jackets!

Post card worthy for sure ... Very pretty up there.. Another postcard worthy photo is the wagon wheel with the little blue flowers. You should frame that one.
It was a beautiful weekend as it is today although I think it's going to be a bit cloudy for the eclipse
Just beautiful! And no, there is nothing prettier than a pig and daffodils!

Loved your pictures and narrative!
You are a bit more “springing it” than we are but sunshine three
days in a row might help! Early morning sun is a must!

Every year I look forward to the cabin and forsythia pictures. No matter what my weather is here, I know Spring has come when I see that bright yellow. Thank!
