Ollie's New Do

Do you know what happens to little boys who
take off their grazing muzzles in the middle of the night?
They get a ridiculous 80's "big hair" hairstyle...
so as to prevent them from repeating their transgression!

Seriously, a rubber band that takes a bunch of hair from his forelock
and a bunch from his mane...
with the head strap of his halter sandwiched between them -
and I have to say, he looks somewhat adorable!

Ollie, on the other hand, was not impressed with the new "do."
If it does the trick... that's all that matters.
We cannot have naughty little boys getting fat
without their grazing muzzles!

This was the scene on the way to the barn early yesterday morning...
my helpers, Bobby and Sam.

Then, when we stopped to water the sheep and pigs,
Griz met us...

Griz and Sam...

What is it about this old brown dog that makes the cats love him so?
He has always been a cat magnet.
And it's not that he bothers much with them...
they just always gravitate to him.

Sam, the cat whisperer.

I mentioned, earlier this summer, that we switched
from the beloved Ritz crackers to
the even-more-beloved Graham crackers.
Well, let me tell you...
it's been a game changer with the sheep.

Suddenly, my somewhat shy sheep go out of their way to seek
my attention.
I don't let it go to my head.
I know it's only for the Grahams.

That's ok... I am a sucker for their attention...
so it's a win-win situation!

So, I know I told you that I was not going to sew yesterday.
I was going to take the day off, right?
Well, I might have fibbed.
Ok, not really fibbed... but changed my mind.
The 27 face masks that I had made on Tuesday sold before 9 AM.
So, I decided I had better get in gear and sew some more.
Yesterday I made another 38 and put them in my Etsy shop last night.
I made no announcement on Instagram last evening,
so hopefully there are some left in the shop this morning.
(Fingers crossed... they are a hot item.)

PS... I am taking today off from sewing.... honest!
Also... the pattern I use is a free pattern online...
If you google "face mask templates", you will find them.

Bev, thank you for offering the masks! I think it will be a fashion statement for some time. I have some but yours look better.

Our sweet tabby Toby was very selective when it came to people (sadly Toby left us this year in June due to an aggressive growth in his abdomen).
It didn't matter who came through the front door, Toby ran and found a hiding spot.
When our daughter brought her boyfriend home Toby didn't run. We jokingly said 'cat sense' - this is a good match. Well, whatever it was that made Toby like this man, we don't know, but he wasn't the right fit after all. We're laughing about it now and it's a fond memory of our kitty.

I will take graham crackers the next time I visit our local animal refuge.

They love eachother.
