I've fallen a little behind in keeping up with our journey because each day has been jam-packed from sunrise to sunset. Let's catch up, a day at a time.
Our next stop on our western road trip was Canyonland National Park. This was perhaps the most expansive park with vista after vista of canyons cut into the earth by the Green and Colorado Rivers. Here are a few of the amazing vistas along our journey through the park....
That evening, we spent in Arches National Park - intentionally entering the park later so that we could see the sights, take a couple short hikes and watch the sun set.
Along the way into the park, we stopped to see the ancient petroglyphs...
Some of the petroglyphs in the area date back to 3500 BC.
On to Arches and it's 2000 natural stone arches, pinnacles, massive rock fins, and balanced boulders...
The three sisters...
Balancing rock...
The rocks become a fiery glow when the setting sun hits them.
This fellow followed us partway through the park. He was expecting a handout - of which we had none. And also, there's a hefty fine for feeding the ravens!
This makes our last stop in Utah. Tomorrow morning, onward into Colorado.

As the sun is setting, I saw many cars in the parking lot. What happens if it gets dark before you get back? I imagine is is dark indeed!
The petroglyphs on marvelous. Imagine things lasting that long.
Arches park seemed like it had a little bit of everything.. Quite a variety and beautiful. So happy that you shared your trip. Wish I could've been there in person to see all these wonders. Hugs
Amazing to see the petroglyphs . . . and to think 3500 years ago.
