Needed Elsewhere

Please excuse my absences in the coming days.  I will be spending several days this week with my Littles. Each of our littlest boys have someone in their daycare with Covid, so they are on quarantine at home for the next few days.

It’s difficult for working parents when daycares are shut down… and I am more than happy to help out in these difficult times.  So, although I will miss spending time with my critters here on the farm, I will have lots of time playing ball and trucks and looking after these two sweet boys.   While I am in town, Hubbs is taking care of the farm!

I received an unusual email yesterday with regards to yesterday’s blog post.  The writer wanted to point out that I look at life from a vantage point of privilege.  Somehow I believe that the point of yesterday’s blog was mis-understood.  Yes, I am very lucky - and there is not a day that goes by that I am not grateful for the life that I live.  But none of that was the point of my blog post.  My point was simply that there is beauty and sacredness in the natural world, and that these are available to everyone.  One needn’t live on a farm to appreciate the glint of morning sun in a tiny dew drop.

Have a lovely day… and I will be back with a normal farm blog tomorrow.

I have read your blog for quite awhile now and have never left a comment but I feel the need to now. I had a recurrence of cancer 3 years ago after 17 years cancer free. I had some very difficult days and tried very hard to remember that each day of life is truly a gift. I live on the west coast and would stay up after midnight (my time) many times to read about your life on the farm and your wonderful attitude about truly appreciating each day. No matter what kind of "privilege" we have in our lives that can all change in a blink of an eye. While I understand what yesterday's writer was trying to say, I wanted you to know that your way of looking at life is contagious and I am glad to have "caught" a little of it. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us!

Yes, you wrote about things that are available to all of us if only we take the time to look for them and appreciate them. Definitely food for thought.Once in a while we just need to stop and smell the roses. Hugs

Why does everyone have to be so hateful and offended by everyone? Don’t they have better things to do ? Geez, I’m so tired of it. You are the most positive and appreciative person I know. Hopefully you just ignored them. Queen Marcy

Hope your littles will stay well - they have their Grammy to watch over them.
And, as for that email, it seems to me also that it was misunderstood, or,at least, read with a limited view. I find such gifts from nature everywhere - in school parking lots, along roadsides,on and on - it is the heart that sees the wonder, not the purse. Privilege is not material, it is from the heart.

Perhaps the commenter lives in an environment deprived of nature and cannot relate to your world. I'm trying to be empathetic, but really? Hurling words like "privilege" is so antagonistic and angry. I have lost some of my favorite blog sites because they stopped posting when they were trolled, ridiculed, insulted etc. Not being tech-savvy, can't trolls be blocked? I implore you to not let those negative comments into your world. You work hard and have performed a great service to your followers during this Covid, brightening our days immeasurably. Plus I have learned alot. We feel protective of you, your lifestyle and your philosophy of responsible living. Be safe.

or one of the caretakers.
I hope all goes well
Wonderful that you are close by

Oh Bev .... your posts are so beautiful and kind and caring. You help us remember to look at the simple things of life and cherish them. Every person's circumstances are different, but we can each find a little beauty, a little wonder no matter where we are.....whether in a big city or a small town or out in the country. I have been reading your blog for so many years now and can't ever remember a time when I was offended or angered or hurt by any one of your posts. You are a blessed soul and we are lucky to have your blog to look forward to each day. What a blessing that you are able to help out your family and watch their little ones when the need arises. Have a great week. May God continue to bless you.
