I often wonder why we call them "goodbyes", as they are seldom good. Our Brown Sammie left us yesterday, and for once I am at a loss for words. Sammie was a huge part of our lives for the past 12 years. As such, this is a profound loss. As always, though, we will work through our grief and continue marching onward.
For now, though, I leave you with a little journey of his life on the farm in older posts. Here is a previous blog post about Brown Sammie's youth. You can read about it HERE.

I love the picture of him standing on the roof and the video of him playing with the cat. May these memories and others bring you comfort and peace.

I hope dear Sammie just laid down to take a snooze and that was it! I hope you didn't have to have Becky help him over the Bridge!!
We shall ALL miss him!! 💖🐕🦺
Sammie had a good life although they leave us too soon.
He was one of the lucky ones; a home where he knew he was safe and loved.
Rest in Peace, little one. xo
A good dog never dies, he always stays,
he walks besides you on crisp autumn days
when frost is on the fields and winter’s drawing near,
his head within our hand in his old way.
