I was away from the farm all day yesterday...
working part time at Hubbs' office.
(Jim, thankfully, was there to care for our friends in my absence.)
So...I have no new story to tell today,
but I did want to give you an update on our friend Maddie.
After over 3 weeks of steroids (first at high doses and then tapered down)
and antibiotics...
she is still hanging in there.
She regained the strength in her back legs and seemed back to her old self
for the most part.
(She never misses a meal!)
Monday and Tuesday she even rode out to afternoon chores with me on the gator.
The last couple of days her legs seem a little weaker...
sadly, we cannot keep her on high doses of the steroids.
And so we take it day by day and appreciate every day with her as a precious gift.
And truly...
isn't that how we should always live life?
As for the rest of our friends...
I just love their upper lip....they use it like a finger! |
they are getting ready for Christmas...
trying on their holiday attire...
hanging the mistletoe and their stockings...
in hopes that Santa comes with gifts of Ritz and carrots!
So tell me....how many of you joined the National Opossum Society?

I have a very old Golden Ret. who is having troubles but not to your Maggie's extent.
I hope she gets better.
Thank you for telling us about Maddie. I'm glad she was comfortable enough to go out on the gator again.
Take care,
Julia
