Summer has officially rolled in...
and with it... blueberry season!
Our blueberry patch is quite productive this year.
The bushes are loaded.
Ripening has begun and will continue through the next month.
This was our first picking...
just enough to taste and fill us with anticipation.
It seems as though the ducks are getting more and more acclimated to being outside.
By the end of the day, their pool water was filthy.
Late yesterday, while running errands, I spied $75 of our $100 ducks.
They were running through this yard, about a mile and a half from our house.
No, we are not going to try to catch them and bring them home....
chances are they will just leave again.
If it's freedom they want, it's freedom they get!
Our first sunflower bloomed yesterday, just in time for the start of summer.
More and more color is popping out every day.
And the rest of the flowers are getting more and more lush.
One of my newest favorites are Profusion Zinnias.
These little plants bloom like crazy!
It's rained just enough this week so that we did not have to water...
which gives us an extra hour in the day.
Perfect!
PS... Oakley is not doing well. I fear we may not have him with us for much longer.
His last greatest pleasure is eating, and yesterday he lost interest in that.
It makes me very sad... the prospect of losing the best dog in the whole world...
in the history of the whole world.
Truly.
Even the other dogs seem to understand that something is different with him.
They spend a lot of time smelling him.
For now we will appreciate every moment we get to spend with him.
I'll keep you posted.

Your flowers are gorgeous! The blooms help me get through the heat.
Oakley, old man, we are with you in spirit. Bless your hearts...
Oh dear Oakley - hugs to all.
