We are in the midst of drizzly springtime here...
unable to work out of doors.
Luckily there are times during the day when the rain stops and we get out to
feed and visit with our friends.
They're up to their usual merriment...
working hard to get rid of their winter coats...
scratching what itches...
Yesterday I was asked the question as to whether we protect our beehives from bears.
Yes!
Our beehives are presently fenced in with a solar-powered electric wire on the fence...
solely for the purpose of discouraging Mr. Bear.
In the early years of beekeeping, we lost a hive to a rather destructive bear.
Most people assume that bears are after honey...
when, in fact, they are more interested in the bee larvae that are housed within the hive.
PS....I wanted to show you a photo of our twin lambs with their mother.
Their mother is Gracie and she has been offered to us with her twins,
so that she can "retire" on our farm.
We are considering that idea....giving it some thought for now.

Is it just the photo or have the sheep's tails been docked? More questions from me. Sorry. :)
