All of the months spent patiently waiting (at least for those of us up North) have finally paid off and we have entered the season of color once again!
We are having an absolutely beautiful week here on the farm... sunny and warm!
In the garden, the asparagus is coming up...
giving me enough yesterday morning to make a fresh asparagus and chive omelet for breakfast.
Last summer's chamomile bed re-seeded itself and is full of lush growth. Very soon, tiny white flower will appear. When they do, I will pick them and dry them for use in tea and apothecary recipes.
This year, I have planted a new strawberry patch in one of the garden boxes. I can hardly wait for those delicious berries!
Mornings are glorious these days... the air is filled with birdsong. Dew drops have replace winter's frost and the fields are once again green. Each day brings more foliage as the land is brought back to life.
Violets are plentiful...
As are dandelions, tiny, blue birdseye speedwell...
I picked some fresh mint from the garden and added some dead nettle for yesterday morning's breakfast tea.
I hesitate to call any of these plants weeds.
They are all beautiful and beneficial in one way or another!
Most of yesterday was spent outside... working in the garden - planting kale, carrots, and more lettuce - watering seedlings, and working on the new flower garden. Very soon I will take all of the plants in the greenhouse and transplant them into the gardens. I can hardly wait!

I've been working on growing more herbs that I can turn into tea. Lemon balm was enjoyed this week.
Cherish the spring wake up!
I washed the dog beds yesterday and hung them out on the clothesline to dry. Oh my! What wonderful perfume of sunshine and fresh air! The dogs slept well for sure.
