Ups And Downs

You might have noticed a missing post, yesterday.  I was away from the farm much of Tuesday, and decided to take a little break after that.  I watched a Christmas movie with Hubbs and knitted instead of writing. (Am I on the Naughty List?)

Tuesday was fraught with worries of Red.  Jack found him looking a little worse on Tuesday morning.  He refused to eat... a tummy ache from the anti-inflammatory medicine.  He had another visit from the Vet, who agreed that he still just does not seem "right".  

She repeated the Lyme test and got a battery of other blood tests.  Hopefully we will get some answers soon.  He did agree to go out to the front pasture (in the rain) for the past two mornings - fresh grass is easier on the tummy.  

His appetite has returned, somewhat, now that we have stopped the anti-inflammatory meds.  Still... it is a mystery that will, hopefully, soon be solved.

Our rainy weather continues - and this guy is a little soggy from sun-up to sun-down.

Even with the rain, he goes for a swim any chance he gets!

Yes, we took them away.  We don't need freshly hatched chicks as we enter the winter season!  Sorry, Blanche! 

Today's blog photos are courtesy of Jack... I took the day off from farm chores in order to do some Christmas baking... mushroom shaped shortbread, thumbprints with farm-grown bramble berry jam, and Russian tea cookies.

I also baked a treat for now... Snickers cookies... made, simply, with a mashed banana, 1/4 cup of peanut butter, a tablespoon of maple syrup, a heaping cup of oats, ⅓ cup chopped peanuts, ⅓ cup of dark chocolate chips.  Baked for 12 minutes at 375 degrees.  Healthy, processed-sugar free, and yummy!

I am hoping that everyone who ordered soap and heard back from me has received their order.
