Thanks to Sunday night's snow storm, things are looking pretty Christmasy around here!
We awoke to 4 inches of freshly fallen snow yesterday morning.
After morning chores, Jack used our ATV, equipped with a snow plow, to clear the driveway...
while Forrest played King of the Hill.
It's no surprise that our water dog loves the snow. Last week I received a question as to how we keep our dogs clean. All three of our dogs stay amazingly clean. We keep a supply of dog towels in the garage to dry everyone off before coming in the house. The really don't bring any dirt into the house... just moisture. In the springtime, during mud season, we rinse off feet and dry them if muddy. Other than that, there's really no dirt on the dogs. We don't bathe Forrest - he takes care of that with all of his swimming. And the other two get baths when they tangle with skunks... but that's about it. We are lucky in that none of our dogs has a doggy smell. Forrest always smells clean and fresh like the outdoors!
We had a bit of a chicken strike yesterday. The flock took one look at the snow and said, "No, thanks!" and stayed inside their warm, dry houses.
All of this snow will melt in the coming days, as the thermometer is predicted to hit the low 50's.
In case you wondered... yes, we did set up our train set and our Christmas village. Here are a few photos for you...
This is always a favorite of the Littles. They love to run the train - they will literally do this for hours during our Christmas party. Along with that, everything gets re-arranged. My little people end up going for rides on the train, too!!
