Double the fun....two dogs joyfully romping, of course!!
Oakley (Forrest's brother) came for a play date yesterday. We can scarcely believe that a whole year has passed since these boys came into our lives. What a fast year that was! Although, I do have to say... the first month was a very long one (you know, the whole new puppy thing....)
A year in, we have two well behaved, happy dogs who are living their best lives...
made even better by the fact that they still have each other as playmates!
At the mere mention of each other's name, the tales start wiggling (as well as the butts!) These two have the absolute wigglyest of wiggle-butts! It's part of their charm. They are so much alike, sometimes it's hard to tell them apart!

Our good news is... the heat wave has passed. Yesterday was one of the prettiest days of the summer... breezy and cooler - a welcomed relief for both man and beast.
Look at our chicklets - they look like chickens already! Sometimes it happens seemingly overnight. Now that they are fully feathered, we no longer turn on their heat lamp.
Here's Forrest, demonstrating his Farm Protector stance. Watching him out in the front pasture with all of the animals reminded me of the farms that have a Great Pyrenees dog as "protector of the realm". As you can see... Forrest takes his job very seriously (not). [chewing on a pinecone]
Yup... he has a keen eye on everyone - just ready to spring into action should some unwelcome varmint trespass his fields (not). He's such a goof - a happy goof!
PS... That pink and green zinnia was a Queen Lime Zinnia. I grew a couple dozen of these from seed in the greenhouse this year. As for what zone we are in.... our planting zone is 6b. I think that the reason why my plants are so far ahead is the fact that I start them from seed in our greenhouse and get them well along before putting them into the ground. Also... we had such a mild spring that I was able to plant cold-tolerant vegetables a little earlier this year.

What fun romping in the water. Wouldn't mind doing that myself. But it gets too hot at the pool and I can't be in the sun for long even though I wear sunscreen all the time. We Irish gals can't take it. Lol.
So glad you are having a little bit of a cool down.
My brother has 2 Great Pyrenees on his farm and they are some big boys for sure.
