From Dusty Dry to Super Soggy!

There's no doubt about it.  Having a puppy in the house is almost like having a newborn... a newborn that you are trying to potty train.  Things are going remarkably well, actually.

The best part is that Forrest is good about sleeping in his cave (crate) at night and goes all night without having to go outside.  I can endure just about any amount of activity during the day if I have a good night's sleep!

His favorite treat is hard-boiled egg yolk, so that is what he gets when he follows directions.  I think he is going to be a fairly big boy, because at 11 weeks he already weighs 22 pounds.  Very soon I will no longer be picking him up!!

Needless to say, our days revolve around puppy activity right now.

My perfectly weeded garden is no longer perfectly weeded due to a combination of Forrest and lots of rain.

Over the past week we have seriously gotten a lot of rain.

Ginger's snout is a pretty good indicator of how much rain we've had.  She loves to dig in the mud with that nose of hers!

I have not had to water all week. The garden is growing at an amazing rate and we are harvesting vegetables like crazy!

Currently ready for harvest is lettuce, spinach, sugar peas, hull peas, kale, chard, kohlrabi, some sweet peppers,

squash and herbs.

The flowers are blossoming.

The sunflowers are getting tall!

My tomatoes are in need of a good pruning... they have grown into a jungle!

These are the flowers outside our garage.  They are my favorite type of petunia - and spread like crazy.  This is just a single plant!

The planters beside the barn are overflowing as well...

a mix of dahlias and profusion zinnias.

There may be days from time to time when I miss blogging.  Life is rather busy right now!  But we will always be back again!

Glad you're back and sharing again. Everything - including Forrest - is growing and looks wonderful!
Is Minerva there this year Or is she traveling the world?

I don't know how you can keep up with all the veggies when they just explode like they do! Some things just do not do well in the fridge for any length of time, how do you deal with that?
Pigs just love rooting and wallowing in the mud! Ginger is certainly living her best life at the moment!
I was wondering about Minerva, too! Is she off to a spa, getting a respite from the work and the heat? We can see her Country Cousin filling in for her! LOL

That hollyhock bloom with the bee ... what a fabulous catch for a picture!
Your garden is looking so wonderful! And your flowers are so beautiful.....I can't believe that petunia has spread out like that so soon. Everything seems to grow so well for you. I am guessing Forrest will be growing well too! :) So glad you've been getting rain.....we have only had 1/2 inch in the past many weeks. It must have zoomed right past us and over to you. Hopefully we'll get some soon. Thanks for a great post!
