Animal lesson of the day:
Some days are better spent indoors.
Yesterday was what some might call vile. Though, I hate to describe any day in this manner. After all, not knowing what day will be my last... I would hate to end life on a vile day. It was, however, quite soggy - windy and rainy - and morning chores were done in the pouring-down rain. They way I see it - if my animals have to deal with it, then, so should I. And so, dressed in quasi rain gear, we headed out into the dark of morning, with our head lamps illuminating the raindrops in front of our faces.
We are having our annual gingerbread house decorating party this coming Saturday, so I baked gingerbread
We will spend the afternoon decorating gingerbread houses with royal icing and candy. Then, afterwards, have a taco dinner together. Easy peasy... and a whole lot of fun!
While I worked in the kitchen, Jack worked in the barn workshop. He's been making these lovely walnut cutting boards.
Yesterday was definitely a perfect day for ducks - and I believe that they are the only critters who stayed out in the rain all day long! My mantra when out working in the rain: "Be the duck." Enjoy every day no matter what the conditions !
Happy December Farm Friends!
Be the duck!

What a beautiful cutting board. Those would make lovely gifts!
I am hoping for snow at Christmas this year. Last year it was cold but no snow.
Have a great day!

Will you be selling the cutting boards on Etsy or are they Christmas gifts for your own sake? They are beautiful and the aprons are just too cute!
