What Gets Into Them?

 As seen from the street...

Don't let this scene fool you, however.  That is not one innocent herd of horses -

no - that is a herd with three good ponies and two very bad ponies (two "coal in the stocking" bad ponies)!

And MaryAnn is there giving them a piece of my mind (for me)!  After all, she has a very strong sense of propriety (for a pig) and Moonie and Scarlet definitely deserved a tongue-lashing.

You see... I took the morning off from work (having done the previous evening's work alone, Hubby gave me the morning off).  It was nice to be able to enjoy the warmth of the house on a 13-degree morning!  I did some ironing, some cabinet and woodwork polishing, and baked a loaf of banana nut bread (swapping out the sugar for some honey and some of the flour for whole wheat - and it was delicious!). Just as the bread was finishing, I received a call from Jack asking if I could help bring in two unruly horses who decided that their grazing time was just not long enough that morning.

Sadly, as with all of the grand mis-haps around here, I did not carry my camera along.  The short version, of a long story, being that two very bad ponies (Moonie and Scarlet) made a break for it and headed up to the upper most pastures (where Becky's horses were) and beyond... causing just about everyone to lose their minds (me included!) Their final destination seemed to be the house across the street.  Apparently the lawn there was quite tasty.   Jack was eventually able to entice Moonie with a bucket of chow.  However, Miss Scarlet was not to be caught.

Luckily, she sashayed her little fanny home behind Moonie and was eventually returned to the dry lot.

Naughty ponies!

Needless to say, these ponies did not get their afternoon treats - and I am still a little miffed with their behavior!

MaryAnn, picking up on my dismay, decided to lecture them on my behalf... spending a good hour talking to them from the opposite side of the gate.

She did, however, give me a little pig therapy which helped to make all right with the world again.

Gotta love those pigs.

The sun helped warm things up quite a bit and the pigs and Faith spent a good deal of time out in the front pasture... together (our new normal)

Cat scans for anyone who holds still.
