As The Snow Slowly Disappears

Mornings are the best at this time of year!

The sky, so dynamic, kissed by the rising morning sun fills me with wonder and awe.

The snow melted enough that we sent the horses to the upper pasture.  And by "sent", that's exactly what I mean.  No longer are we walking them up on lead ropes.  They are totally programmed to run up to the pasture as soon as the gate opens.  It's quite comical how fast they gallop to their breakfast.

The donkeys, too chubby for rich grass, enjoyed their breakfast of hay in the dry lot - the sunrise providing the perfect breakfast backdrop.

It was a very cold, windy morning as we worked our way through morning chores.  All of the kitties are enjoying beds beneath heat lamps now.  Sometimes I wish that I, too, had a heat lamp over my bed!

Wren's mommy and I headed out into the countryside to explore a few local craft shops.  All of the Christmas decor and music really put me into the mood for decorating.  I am going to get the holiday decor out of the attic after Thanksgiving.  I'll give you a holiday house tour when I am finished!

During the couple hours that we were gone, Wren and her grandpa Jack spent some time exploring the woods and visiting the horses.  I only wish I could share a video of her - she's quite chatty and very precocious.  We are so enjoying her visit!  Sadly, she leaves us this evening.

This weekend we are helping The Littles move into their new house.  Other than that, it will be a quiet weekend here on the farm.

What a dramatic skyscape! It makes getting up early worthwhile, I'm sure!

Enjoy your sweet Wren and your weekend with your wee ones.
So grateful for your generous spirit.

I gave my one and only grandchild, a beautifful little girl, a barn and animals gift set when she was about Wren's age. She spent more time with me then and it was kept here at my home for her to play with when she came to spend the day. She is now 8 years old and the last time she was here - a week ago - she pulled it out of her toy closet and played with it.

Psalm 19:1. “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
It’s wonderful for Wren and you guys having her spend time. My favorite childhood memories are spending time at Grandma and Grandpa’s!
The things kids say….my nephew once said what was the magic word to be given a toy off his brother’s birthday cake….I was expecting PLEASE…..He thought and thought and finally his face lit up and he said: Abra Cadabra!!! Too funny!!!
