Sunrise Thoughts

There's nothing like a peaceful autumn sunrise to remind me of just how perfectly this world was created!

Our beautiful earth, spinning on its own axis so precisely that every morning we can look forward to another sunrise.

It's all nothing short of miraculous, and yet, how often do we take the rising of the sun for granted - knowing that it will happen, but not truly appreciating the amazing forces that cause it to happen.  Yes, we enjoy the beautiful colors of a sunrise, but do we stop to consider how this happens each and every single day?  Such mathematical precision!

And though each sunrise happens in the same manner, no two are alike.
It truly blows my mind.

For as much as I love each sunrise, I believe the guineas love them even more.  At least, they squawk as if they do!  To my neighbors... I am sorry.  This flock of birds is the loudest we've ever had... the most enthusiastic, possibly.  They "sing" each day at sunrise and again at sunset - their non-melodic, cacophony of fingernails on a chalkboard "song."

And yet, you've got to love these whacky bug-eating birds.

They truly live a life of non-stop adventure - all the while ridding the farm of unwanted ticks and other sundry pests.

Luckily, for the runner ducks, at least half of the guineas have now moved out of the duck house and are roosting in the maple tree behind the barn at night.

Each morning, they all join together and head off for their day -

often holding a planning meeting along the way.

Occasionally, they visit with Forrest and Jenni, our lovely runner duck couple (segregated because Jenni is our only female.). You can see Forrest and Jenni on the other side of the fence from the five runner ducks in the foreground.

Yesterday morning, Hubbs and I headed in opposite directions.  Chores were finished quite early and we had to forgo putting the horses out in the pasture, knowing that we would not be home in time to bring them in (before eating themselves into a coma!)   There was a bit of a protest over this fact - everyone lining up to voice their objections.

However, when I spread hay all over the dry lot, they gave up and settled into the job of finding the best piles.  Breakfast is served!  I could hear them - under their breath- grumbling about the gruel they were served after anticipating their normal smorgasbord.  "You'll survive, dear ponies!"

"You'll survive."

To answer a question from yesterday's comments... What's on my needles at the present time?

Well, nothing actually.  As of last evening, I finished the shoulder shrug on the right... a repeat of the first in a different color.  Now... what to make next?  That is the question!

I just love the sunrise and the promise of a new day! Your shoulder shrugs are pretty. I bet they help to keep away the evening chill!
I just love early mornings. The best time of the day for me.

Sunrises are indeed beautiful this time of year. I never get to see them due to the trees and due to the fact that I’m usually not up that early but if I were I wouldn’t be able to see it. I remember when I used to go to work at 5 o’clock in the morning and the rising sun will hit me in the eyes as I drove across the bridge.
Your equines are a tad spoiled! I hope they get over it. Ha ha!
I don’t know if I’d rather hear guineas or roosters first thing in the morning. Either would be better than leaf blowers which I have been listening to all day. I am getting to acquire a huge dislike for Tuesdays. I hope you had a good day. Hugs
