Some Days...

Some days are just perfect in every way.

Yesterday was one of those days.

After a night of rain, the clouds dissipated, and the sun came out to shine gloriously.

Yesterday was a special day - Easton came to spend the day on the farm.

There's no better guest to have when there is farm work to be done, because this little one loves to help with just about any task.

He has the longest attention span I have ever witnessed in a four year old, and is quite capable.

We needed to move some compost into the garden boxes - as I had finished weeding them on Monday.  Jack loaded the gator with compost, and we loaded Easton's little electric gator with compost as well.

With his own miniature shovel, he moved several gator loads of compost into the garden boxes and worked along side of us for a couple of hours.  Never once did he complain or ask when we would be finished.  The only thing he requested was refills of compost in his gator.

When we finished, he thought his gator needed a bath and really enjoyed giving it one!

The next order of business was pasture cleaning.... a little bit of manure and a whole lot of sticks (winter debris) needed to be picked up.

We opened the gate so that the pigs and sheep could come out.

Ginger and MaryAnn were curious about this tiny gator that was in their pasture.

And Easton was quite serious about picking up ALL the sticks that he could possibly find in the pasture.

His stick-to-it-iveness (is this even a word?) is even stronger than ours!

We fed animals, and gathered eggs, played T-ball, and with construction vehicles in the indoor arena (which the kids refer to as the "sandbox"!)

It was just the best day from start to finish!  We all enjoyed ourselves immensely.  This Grammie's heart overflowed.  And to whomever sent us this glorious sunshine... we thank you!

Easton, did you borrow your red boots from Gossie the Gosling? When my two- year-old grandson, Crew, gets here for the day I will share this post with him. I'm quite sure he will want to come over for a visit with Easton at the farm. This post is the perfect distraction for all the ugly news of this world. Bev, you are the best to keep so committed to your posts. xoxox

That is remarkable! He not only works his gator, he takes care of it by cleaning it afterwords! Great work ethic already.

Enjoy your beautiful skies. You have earned it!
Was a beautiful day! I'm sure Easton enjoyed his day and being with you as much as you did!

We need more social media to be "reporting" life along these lines. We need more calm and enjoyment and simple moments. I wish social media were flooded with reports like this!

I loved your post this morning and I'm so glad you had some sunshine. Our grandson has also been busy loading sticks into his mini tractor and trailer lately. What a great way to have fun as a little one.
