As I sit here writing, I can hear the tinkling of wind chimes outside the back door. The door is open, allowing a gentle, fresh breeze to blow through the house. It feels delightful to air out the house after a long, cold winter. This day has been a gift. The temperature reached the upper 60's and I spent most of the day outside.
This time of year energizes me and I find all manner of tasks that need my attention. I trimmed bushes in the front garden, pruning everything to keep Summer's growth from turning into a jungle. I was so happy to see that the Birdseye speedwell is blooming.
These tiniest of blue flowers lying so very close to the warming ground have arrived - turning their tiny, smiling faces skyward towards the warm sun. On this day, I find myself doing the same - and delighting in the warmth that I feel in my cheeks.
Hubbs has just left for a guys golf trip in warmer climes and I am here to hold down the fort. I have a list a mile long of everything that I hope to accomplish while he is away. I am so lucky that this week's weather will more than cooperate! As for farm chores, I have a little help from Anna this week, as well.
As for being alone... well, I am never alone.
Everywhere I go, I have my four-legged entourage. If you have dogs or cats, then you will understand when I say, I can't even have alone time in the "loo"!
Cleaning up manure in the dry lot yesterday, I was followed by Pete, Moll...
Bea Fun,
and Bea Run.
There's always someone willing to have a discussion... always someone willing to listen.
Have you ever watched how your dog/ cat drinks water? They cup their tongue backwards and scoop the water into their mouth.
Horses and donkeys?
They stick their mouths into the water and suck... slurping water down their throat in a continuous stream.
Horses can drink a large volume of water in a very short time.
Lip-smacking good!
What a sweet soul! My donkey girls are the very best company - always willing to just hang out and chat.

The gnome homes are just the cutest little buildings and will be such a treat for everyone to discover!
I'm sure this weeks "to do" list is full of spring chores..So nice that your many four legged friends will keep you company..
Drinking
It's all about the cheeks and the vacuum one makes with their cheeks..Animals don't have cheeks..Dogs curl their tongues in to a ladle. (backwards).Cats dip their tongues and retract their tongues very fast thereby catching the water. Lapping..Cats rule, dogs drool..
Love the newest gnome home..You will soon have an entire community..You need a mayor!!
Have a happy day xxoo
