After five days of "me" time (while Hubbs was off on a golf trip), I was ready for a little conversation.
That's not to say that I had no one to talk to all week... for we all know there are plenty of furry noses that are anxious to be in my business!
There's just nothing like having my best friend by my side. He is now home safe and sound.
Luckily, on Saturday, my kids visited; and the farm was filled with littles of all ages.
It was warm and sunny, so we walked to the creek - a favorite spot for Mackenzie and Easton. They love exploring and skipping stones.
While we were there, Tyler arrived and came to find us. He brought a friend and the two of them went off adventuring by themselves. He loves to show the animals to his friends. ❤️ It was wonderful to get some hugs from this young man - he's the very best hugger!!
Jasper took a few swims.
I always have rubber boots for the kids so that they can wade in the creek, but by the time they were finished, everyone had to remove their boots and pour out the water. It's hard to stay in the shallows - the best rocks are out in the middle of the creek. I'm wondering if there are kid-sized hip-waders. In another month or so, it won't matter. The water will be warmer then. (Not that cold water ever stopped a kid from getting soaked while playing!)
Spring has definitely arrived, and with it, the skunk cabbage has blossomed. The trees are budding. And the willows actually have tiny leaves. There's no stopping her now. A true force of nature, Spring has brought with her all manner of new life. We are so lucky to be able to witness these small miracles on a daily basis! I expect to be able to share daffodils with you sometime this week.

I am sure all of the animals are ready for sunshine and warmer days.
Our little are on Spring break so we have lots planned to do with them this week. Have to take the time when we can get it!
They sure are growing fast. Fresh air and farm life!
Glad Jack is back home.
