Whirlwind!

Since we last visited, we enjoyed a road trip from Pennsylvania to North Carolina (9 hours down, 8 hours back). It was a quick turn-around trip to visit friends and family.

We got a little later start Friday morning than we had hoped, and didn't leave until after the sun had risen.  We arrived in Southern Pines, NC by late afternoon and were met by almost 60-degree sunshine.  What a wonderful break from the northern cold!  We had dinner with friends, and then left early Saturday morning and headed to Charlotte to visit with this little munchkin.

Wren is now 15 months and is quite the chatterbox.  She has a great vocabulary of words.  The funny thing is, she strings her words along with other gibberish and sounds like she is speaking in full sentences... which I am sure she is.  Unfortunately, we just don't understand that language.

She is a super affectionate little one and loves to give kisses!

While we were gone, Anna (our neighbor/farm helper) took care of the farm animals, while Maggie and Macy and her Mom stayed at the house with the dogs.

The weekend gave the girls a little time to spend with their ducks.

They took them on another walk... and the boy ducks discovered the girls.  They were happy to see each other, but I can't help but think the girls were a bit relieved to have the boys on the other side of the fence.

All of the animals are in great hands while we are gone... and we are so thankful for both families for giving us the ability to have a quick get-away.

While we were enjoying Spring in North Carolina...

the farm was engulfed by a quick snow squall.

Just enough snow fell for Anna's little one, Caroline, to make a snow angel.

Thankfully it was gone by the time we arrived back home.  We had left very early Sunday morning, and were back on the farm by mid-afternoon.

It was a quick trip... we had a great time... and like always, we are so very happy to be home!

What a nice little get-away. Wren is the sweetest little girl ever. I would love to hear her "talking".
I know the feeling of having someone tend the animals that truly love them as much as we do... worry free away time. xxx
