After a long stretch of grey, misty days, the clouds parted yesterday afternoon; and the sun cast a warm glow over the land.
I spent an hour or so yesterday afternoon just soaking up the sunlight.
I made my rounds, visiting all of the animals...
and just enjoying the sights, and sounds, and smells.
The temperature was perfect - 72. The sky was blue and the farm was peacefully quiet... so quiet you could hear leaves dropping in the woods and the occasional soft tapping of a woodpecker.
Moments like these are so good for the soul... clearing all thought from one's mind and connecting with the earth with an open heart.
I can feel the relaxation and peace coursing through my veins as I sit, in tune with the rhythm of life.
I think even the animals appreciate the sunlight.
Many of the chickens found spots to stretch out and soak in the warmth.
While I was out enjoying the fresh air, Hubbs was busy working on our next gnome house, along with his supervisor... Pete. Pete's always lying down on the job!
Many of you commented about the mushrooms on the manure pile that looked like a "poodle". This is what they morphed into yesterday. The one in the middle looks as though she's wearing a big floppy hat!
While we are on the subject, here are a couple more that I found yesterday. It seems like every day I find new and varied varieties.
This is the first year I have ever seen these (below). They are growing at the base of most of the pine trees. To me, they look like coral.
Loved seeing your last red orange and purple . . .
“Woolies” in shade . . .
Pete’s calm . . .
That Pete just makes my heart smile!
Your trees are beginning to show some nice color ... with our colder nights happening here in S. CO ... I am seeing some color happening here, as well! Love the Fall ... not so much the Winter!! LOL
The "poodle" looks like it has a collar of layered ruffles..Very cool!!
Poor sheepies. they are going to be pretty warm the next couple of days..
Looks like your trees are beginning to turn..pretty slow this year..We are pretty green..
Enjoy your day!
Glad you and the animals all enjoyed my hard work!!!!lol
hugs, di--talking about hugs--be sure to give Pete and all the kittens a hug from 'the crazy lady in Fl"!
