I spent most of yesterday in town babysitting the boys.
And while I was changing diapers, cleaning yogurt from every crack and crevice, and building castles, Hubbs was wading through rivers of water all over the farm.
We received a large amount of rain in a short amount of time. The greenhouse flooded (first time ever!) The front pasture had a stream running through it, as did the upper pastures. Most all of the farm drains into one area... the pond - which almost overflowed its banks.
The water was more nuisance than anything... no lasting harm done.
Late in the afternoon, I headed home and brought Easton back with me to the farm. I wish I could tell you everything funny that he said to me along the way. A couple of things - we drove past a wall of steep rock, over which there were several waterfalls from the heavy rain. Easton was enthralled with the sight of the waterfalls, exclaiming, "Look, Grammie, those water fountains are beautiful!"
We drove over a few rumble strips on the highway which he called "grumble strips".
Then at bedtime when Muppy put his reading glasses on to read Easton a story, Easton told him he looked like a "genius".
Four year olds are so delightful, so un-filtered and honest, and yet, at the same time, so prone to making up little white lies - or "stories" as I call them. It's definitely one of my favorite ages.
Our weekend will be spent with Mackenzie and Easton - I'll try to jot down the "funnies" along the way and share them with you on Monday. Have a perfect weekend.
