In The Greenhouse... Early Spring Gardening Adventures

I've been spending quite a bit of time in the greenhouse lately.
It's the beginning of gardening season,
and the seedlings are coming along nicely.

I can't tell you how happy I am to once again have my hands in soil...
even if it is just a potting mix at the present time.

The garden is awakening from its winter nap.
Weeds are beginning to flourish, so I have already been doing
a little weeding.
Last summer's growth is gone.

Soon, very soon I will be slipping some seed beneath the soil
so that it can work its magic.
Until that time, I begin the process within the warmth of my
greenhouse sanctuary.

There is not much in this world that amazes me quite as much
as what happens to a lowly seed when one sets it into the soil.
It is nothing short of miraculous.
It fills my soul to know that I play a small part in bringing forth
new life within my garden.

And for my efforts, my family is nourished for another year.
I am both humbled and awestruck by the magic of Mother Earth.
There is no more inspiring work than to be the caretaker of
this parcel of land within her kingdom.

I am taking a quick day off tomorrow...
spending two days at the Chesapeake Bay with the girls.
I know... I just got home.
I don't often do this kind of thing, but when the opportunity arose,
I jumped at the chance to spend some time with my friends.
I'll be home Friday evening and will spend the weekend here at the farm,
so we can visit again on Monday.

Have a great weekend!!
