Time With The Littles

We spent our weekend with these two:

enjoying days that looked like this:

We filled our time with raspberry picking and blueberry picking and
(as well as eating!)
pasture cleaning...

This little man is happiest when he is driving...
hauling his trucks around on his gator.

It was great to have help in the garden.
We learned the importance of pruning one's tomato vines.

We picked every day-lily that was open in the pasture.

Oh, so gentle with the worms...

Many miles were logged on the "go-go"...
Those were literally the first and last words out of Easton's mouth
each morning and each bedtime.
"I ride Go-go!"

We visited a local animal rescue.

We stopped at our local park by the river
and were surprised to find the cutest little free library there.

"Take a book... leave a book."
What a lovely idea!

Our weekend was non-stop action... and tons of fun.

This week is a memorial golf outing and picnic in memory of
Jack's dad who passed recently.
We are not big on funerals, but rather prefer to celebrate a life.
Tuesday would have been his birthday, so we will gather to honor him on that day.

As a result, I will need to take a few days off from the blog,
but will be back later this week.

I hope your days are filled with blue skies and sunshine!!

Looks like you have had a marvellous weekend with your grandchildren and it really was packed with lovely things to do. I love the little free library. I have a blog friend over in Michigan and her husband has just made a library for the community to use and it looks so much like the one in your photo. It's a really lovely idea. Good luck with the memorial "celebrations". Hope the day goes well and brings you all some marvellous memories to cherish.
Looks like a great time for one and all!

It has rained here every day for a week. Over 7 inches. It is cloudy again today so I suppose we will get some rain today too.
Have a good time at the golf outing and we will hear form you when you get back.

Leslye,
I prune the leaves that hang down to leave a lot of air around the main stem. I also prune off the side shoots as much as possible, to leave just one strong main stem for the fruit. Also, I tie them up every few days to keep them from getting wild.

Hi Bev :) I feel the same way, I am not a big funeral-goer, but celebrating life is what we all should do for sure.

Your raised beds look so neat and organized!!! Very nice! And the animal shelter is wonderful. We have a take a book, leave a book thingy around here too.
