What To Do With a Broken-Down Tractor

And here it is... another Friday.
How is it that a week can pass by so quickly?

Perhaps I fill my days with too much activity.
Perhaps if I sat and did nothing, time would slow down.

Well, I can't see that hello, Friday... again!
We have a slow weekend planned... peaceful time at the farm... a hike through the woods, some
knitting and sewing... perfect!

It's been a while since you've seen Daisy, Dr. Becky's Aussie Shepherd.
Yesterday, Daisy came to visit at the barn while we were doing chores.
The four dogs ran and wrestled.
Apparently, there was nothing left to do but play dead.

Daisy is a therapy dog and makes regular trips to visit residents in a local nursing home.
I am sure she brightens the day of anyone with whom she comes in contact.
She's a very happy dog!

For a while now, I have wanted to take some photos of something unique
and show you.
Here goes...

At least three years ago, this tractor ended up on the side of the road,
about 2 miles away from us,
broken down.

And there it sat.
And sat.
And sat.

And then, during a storm, a tree fell on the front of the tractor.
And it continued to sit there.

Almost every time we pass by it, I remark that it is still there...
and is anyone every going to move it?

Apparently, I am not alone.
This past Christmas, three wreaths showed up on the tractor.

And then last week, this flag of Ireland was added.
We have neighbors with a good sense of humor.

It will be fun to see what other decorations are added....
as I am sure that this tractor is here to stay.

Lastly, ever since Ginger's escape this week,
she has been vigilant about checking her gate...

just in case someone didn't latch it properly.
Because.... we all know, and so does she, that running away is rewarded with Ritz crackers!!

I am continuing to do a little sewing each day,
experimenting with patterns so that I can make clothing that are my personal style.
Yesterday I made this top, using a bodice from a favorite pattern
and adding a flounce to the bottom of it.
I believe this is going to be my favorite top for spring!

And lastly...
I saw this saying and searched for it on a sign.

So true!
The snow has finally melted in my garden.
Looks like it is time to get started with spring clean-up.

Have a wonderful weekend, whatever you do.
We'll be back on Monday to share ours with you.
And remember... only five days until Spring!!
Let's celebrate!

To Daisy Girl... you asked yesterday if we do a head count when we close up our chickens.
Because we have always had so many chickens, we do not.
Luckily, these days, everyone makes it in by dark.
We've had no predator problems since we put up our predator lights.
All is well in the henhouse (with the exception of the roosters!)

It is hard to believe that it's Friday again. We are still under piles of snow and I don't see any garden clean up for at least another month. You always have so many things I would like to comment on and it's hard to choose only a few. Daisy is beautiful. When I saw the tractor I thought maybe you were going to end up putting it on the farm. I'm sure you would miss it if you drove by one day and it was gone. Your top is absolutely gorgeous. That sign is great and so true!!

i've seen that sign and i really like it. it took 2 years for the city to tow a broken down car in front of my daughter's house. and no one ever decorated it. it was just ugly! St. patty's parade tomorrow! we can sit out front and watch green people all day!

Love the top you made. I can't wait for nice weather to get here. Lots of rain today in Mass. At least it is not SNOW!!!!

Enjoy your weekend, Janie

Thank you for the answer to my question. I wasn't sure how many hens you had.

That top is gorgeous! If I liked clothes shopping, I would buy several.

Sounds like a peaceful weekend. Enjoy!

Love the Garden Sign . . .

And the therapy dog chose a “great therapy” to get the “gang to gather around!”

I agree . . . bet that top will be your favorite spring look!
