It's hot and humid this week...
downright tropical...
and just in time for "Back to School."
I won't complain about the weather... because it is always changing...
that's one constant we can count on!
But, I will tell you that most of us feel like this about the current conditions:
The goats seem to take all sorts of weather in their stride.
The sheep, however, make no bones about it...
they are not fond of heat...
especially at this time of year, when their fleeces are starting to get thick.
They will be happy as can be when the cold winter winds blow.
Most of us, are like Sammy....
and avoid strenuous activity.
Chester, on the other hand, never stops!
Well, yesterday was "Back to School" in this neck of the woods.
Once again, the school bus passes in front of the farm every morning during chores.
Since it seems popular to do so,
we did a couple "first day of school" photos of the turkey boys.
Tom...
and Fred...
Handsome fellows, aren't they? No doubt... "Most likely to succeed."
At what... I'm not quite sure.
Speaking of handsome fellows...
these three were much less timid about the world yesterday.
And, believe it or not, by the end of the day...
they had decided that the Frat House was where they wanted to roost for the night.
I just love it when things work out as planned!
With plenty of pools in which to swim,
the ducks don't seem to mind the heat at all...
spending their days roaming the wide open spaces available to them
and getting their fill of this summer's plentiful insect population.
The roses continue to bloom.
They've given us a summer-long show of color.
I might just have to plant a few more next year!
Thank you so very much for all of the Anniversary wishes you bestowed on Hubbs and I.
We had a perfectly wonderful, extraordinary, ordinary day.
