Ok, enough is enough! We have had a total of 3 foot of snow so far this month.... and we are not even half way through February. Although it is beautiful to look at, it does make farm life a bit more challenging.
Yesterday was a crazy day! I went out at 7 AM to feed the animals and spent the rest of the day moving snow. I left my trusty gator in the garage, and used the four wheeler with the snow blade for chores. 
Hauling water was a bit of a challenge. But, at least I did not get stuck in the snow! The animals stayed indoors most of the day....seeking shelter in their individual houses. The Dwarf Nigerians, however, emerged at feeding time (no wonder they are so chubby....they never miss a meal!) The chickens took one look at the snow and shook their heads..."no way" was their response to my invitation to come out to play this morning. The horses were the only ones brave enough to venture out to pasture...a few flakes of hay were all it took to entice them.
Farm work is physically tiring....add another foot of snow on top of that, and "tiring" is an understatement! Hopefully, the lanes around the farm will remain open and today's chores can be done by gator.

I'm up too but hope to get back to bed soon. Yesterday my hubby went out in the knee deep snow to get snow off of our evergreens in our back yard. He was afraid that the weight of the snow would start to break the branches. He came in so tired and soaking wet. I can't imagine how hard it must be to get out in this snow to feed animals. We can look at it and said "Let's do it tomorrow." But you can't. I'm looking forward to taking more photos of our snow later today. Take care and don't work too hard.

Yes, folks up your way have taken a beating with the snow. I've had snow but it's been minimal and enjoyable...especially since I'm not a livestock farmer anymore. :0)
The wildlife is much easier. hehe :0)
I know you consider yourself blessed to have the Gator and the 4wheeler with the blade on it. They definitely take most of the stress out of outside chores whether it's warm or snowing.
All of this I'm sure makes you even more anxious to see Springtime...just think you get to plant all those gardens this year without any home construction! YAY
