We Just Love our Chickens!

There is no better investment on a farm than chickens. For the low price that you pay for just- hatched chicks and the low cost to feed layers (they just love the vegetarian table scraps that they get!), you get so much value back in return. Our eggs have been a great selling item. We sell them as quickly as our girls can lay them. That has prompted us to enlarge our flock; and we will most likely add more chickens in the Spring, too.

Pictured below are a couple of our new gals....growing, growing, growing. The funny, little striped chicks are the new guinea babies.

Mmmmm, Mmmmmm....love those eggs!

Yes, yes, yes to the chickens - our chickens are such easy keepers and we have much less kitchen waste since we got them. And fresh eggs are a great bonus, aren't they?

Do the established birds have any problem with the new comers?

Lovely Chickens - I would like a flock of the speckled black and white ones - Dominickers because they are cool looking. I love Terri's fresh eggs my blogger in crime. Are your egg shells hard - ours are incredibly hard - what a difference from store bought eggs. Don't tell Terri but once I dropped a carton across the floor and only 2 cracked which I immediately sacrificed to the frying pan! Can't drop a store bought egg carton - or icky big mess clean up or happy dogs!
