More Goat Antics

Good news....our goats are getting fat....even O'Malley who isn't pregnant. I spent some time sitting and watching our gals on Sunday morning in hopes of capturing a Dwarf Nigerian run on tape. The difference between Dwarf Nigerians and our Fainting Goats is amazing. Fainting goats are so very non-athletic. O'Malley climbed to the top of her log mountain and then spent 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get down again. I was afraid that if she were scared enough, she might faint and just fall back down off the hill.

Star and Ash, our Dwarf Nigerians, are completely opposite. They run and jump and climb anything, no matter how steep. Even though pregnant, they are amazingly agile, as you will see in this video:

Goat Pregnancies.....Exciting News!!!

If you all will remember, I had told you the story of our little fainting goat buck's first attempt at a nutshell, he attempted to mount and dropped over in a faint. Well, the good news is......HE DID IT!!! Three of our females, Jill, Missy and Myrtle have conceived. Becky ultrasounded them all and found that all are carrying twins, except for Missy. In Missy's case, only one fetus was seen. Also, our Dwarf Nigerian Goats (Star and Ash) are carrying we will are preparing for nine or more little kids this Spring. Becky says we can start passing out the cigars!!! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!! What an exciting Spring this is going to be. Look for upcoming Birth Announcememts! (and lots and lots of pictures.....oh boy, the paperazzi will be out in full swing!!!
