I have always been like the robin... the first bird to sing in the morning. Forever a go-to-bed-early kind of gal, I love waking up before the sun and venturing out into the pre-dawn darkness.
Watching the sky as the sun approaches fills me with anticipation. Every passing moment brings a new surprise, a different play of light.
I take in the morning show with the realization that a new day lays fully ahead of me - filled with so many possibilities. I have learned that a new day is like a blank page - its story yet to be written. Stories don't write themselves - but rather, are birthed through a creative, open mind. In the same manner, a day only becomes magical if we take the time to curate it thusly. Otherwise, time passes - leaving us motionless in the world as it moves around us.
My motto has always been one of seizing the day and making it into something special, no matter how mundane it might seem to another. I choose to see each day as wondrous.
Each morning's sunrise, no matter how varied sets the tone for the start of something special.
On this particular day, after witnessing the beauty of the light as it returns to bathe our world and release us from the darkness,
I am filled with anticipation of the hours before me... ones that will be filled with some autumn decorating (bringing in the last vestiges of summer, combined with some cozy autumn decor from the attic), making a pot of some sort of chicken soup, and working on a current knitting project while wrapped in a cozy, warm sweater. Though it might not sound magical to another, to me, it is the quintessential autumn day and one that makes my heart happy!
In a time when the world feels so heavy... it is important to offset those burdens with tiny counterweights. And so, dear friend, find things that make you smile today!
I hope this helps, in some small way.
