Today's blog is brought to you by all of the colors.
You know... all of those colors that we (at least we who live where there are four seasons) miss for so many months.
The colors that we long for when our world is monochromatic, in tones of grey and browns.
The primary, secondary and tertiary colors - all of the colors in the spectrum that make our world a visual delight.
My planting finished, I now get to sit back and watch as the show begins. (Ok... well, actually sitting rarely happens as there's weeding and watering to be done daily, but a girl can dream!)
Here's the opening act for Maven Haven:
Outside the greenhouse, the peonies are blooming...
And around the vegetable garden...
The resident of that blue birdhouse is a pair of tree swallows. They nest there every year. I love their metallic blue feathers and their liquid-sounding chirps and gurgles
There are many types of marigolds in the veggie garden... a deterrent to insects, I hope.
And dahlias, to cut and bring in the house. This one called Pink Lemonade.
There's a summer worth of blossoms to come. I've planted and planted. What a show it will be. I'll be sure to bring you along as I wander through summer's blooms in the coming weeks.
PS: Thank you, Heather for sharing your donkey tips in yesterday's comments... I will keep working with her. She really is a sweetheart, but, a sweetheart with an iron will.
We are in the midst of another sarcoid treatment for Chloe. You may remember a couple of years ago she had surgery to remove a few sarcoids. One has reappeared in the fold between her head and neck, so we are using a chemotherapy cream designed to destroy the affected skin cells. So far, so good... she is not giving me any headaches with applying the cream. And yes... she gets lots of treats... carrot coins are her favorite.
It is always a beautiful visit to your home! Thank you!
