The waiting is over! Spring arrives this evening at 5:24 PM EST. Our weather has not quite caught up to the calendar... but patience will pay off. Every day brings us a smidge closer. I did not plant any of my seeds as I had planned to do this weekend. We had a very cold weekend... clear, cold, and windy.
We had a farm visitor this weekend... our friend, Maggie came to spend a couple days with us.
Besides being wonderful company, this young lady is getting quite adept at the farm chores.
She's a huge help with chores, but her specialty is handing out generous helpings of love to the animals.
Because it was too cold for a lot of outside activity, we busied ourselves with building this miniature magic emporium. Every single piece of furniture and all of the accessories were built from scratch. Even the tiny light had to be built, wired, and hooked up to a battery pack.
The dimensions of this little room are about 10 inches by 10 inches.
Although a little tedious and challenging, building this tiny room was great fun. For example, the little lantern sitting on the floor in the front came as a marble, a couple of metal bits and bobs and a long wire that had to be bent into the shape of a handle.
We may have glued our finger together more than once during the process!
Thanks for a great visit, Maggie!
Thank goodness warmer weather is ahead. Our hay stores are getting a little low (although we have enough to last). We're looking forward to the growing season ahead and a barn once again filled with hay!
Happy Spring to all!!
