Six weeks ago, Old Punxy Phil saw his shadow and declared 6 more weeks of winter. What we "enjoyed" in those ensuing 6 weeks is debatable depending on what part of the country you inhabit. For some, it probably feels like you have yet another 6 weeks. I assure you... you don't. Luckily, March snow melts quickly, right?
Here on the farm, we have our own version of Phil. Meet Bee Haven Bill.
Bill lives in the three-sided woodshed on the side of our house.
Yesterday, Bill emerged,
stretched nice and tall, and caught a glimpse of his long shadow for the first time in a while. (The sun's been a little absent most days of late.)
When he saw it, he declared, "Spring is here!"
Then he set about to find some lunch.
"Ahhhh... now that is tasty!"
"Nom, nom, nom, nom, nom..."
Now that's the kind of Groundhog Day I like!
We've had an inkling that someone is living in the woodshed, behind the neatly stacked piles of wood. Yesterday we got proof, as old Bill sauntered across the pallets and snuck in behind the logs on the left half of the shed.
I just took a shot of our morning sunrise myself. Yours is stunning, with nothing to block your view. What a treat!
Enjoy the weekend.
Look at all the lovely flowers. I haven't checked to see if our daffodils made through the snows. More white stuff coming today. Winter's last hurrah I hope.
Happy St. Patrick's day! We love celebrating our Irish heritage year round!
A blessing for you:
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat
Go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl Go lonraí an ghrian go te ar d’aghaidh Go dtite an bháisteach go mín ar do pháirceanna
Agus go mbuailimid le chéile arís,
Go gcoinní Dia i mbos A láimhe thú.
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
All the Daffodils have bloomed and we have them everywhere..Beautiful
Have a fun weekend..
