Personal Space

I am always intrigued by the difference in personalities between all of my critters.  There are those who would prefer me to never be in their space.

(I had to crawl into her house with her, yesterday, to trim her hooves.  She tried her best to ignore my presence!)

And then there are those who just have to invade my space and sniff me up one side and down the next!

I was sitting in the doorway to the barn yesterday afternoon, having a conversation with Chloe and Daphne.  They were trying to convince me that, like Hobbits, they should not only have lunch but should also have Afternoon Tea.  After all, they are quite proper, these gals!

Of course the peace of donkey conversation was soon interrupted by Red...

whose quality time was then interrupted

by Ollie....

Of course, Donnie Brasco had to insert himself in the conversation as well.

So, it was no surprise that shortly thereafter, Moonie came to join the party.

I couldn't help but chuckle at Moonie who looked like a toddler who had gotten caught playing with the grape jelly!

Someone was messing around the poke berries and had purple highlights in his forelock!

Before long, there were lips fumbling with my sleeves, my hair, my camera, and my cat!

Horses can be very curious... which is one reason why they so easily get themselves into predicaments!

You might have noticed that one of the equines did not join the party.  Scarlet... the only sensible one of the lot... has manners and stays out of the fray!

We had a most enjoyable first weekend of autumn.  We watched Tyler play soccer on Saturday.  He scored the most amazing accidental goal when the other team kicked a ball that deflected off of his knee and into the goal.

The weather has been quite chilly here and is to continue that way through the next two weeks.  It looks like we are going to actually have an Autumn this year!  I am loving it!
