All Things Fall

Gazing out of the window to the world beyond, it would be easy to believe that summer is still here.  However, step outside the door and the cold Autumn winds quickly blow your hair askew as your skin erupts in goosebumps.

 It's chilly and windy here!

Beautiful Autumn and all that accompanies it has arrived.  The leaves are beginning to change.  What joy!

I made another trip to the pumpkin patch with my friend, Danielle (Mom to Maggie and Macy).

All these pumpkins can make a gal jump for joy!

As you can see, we loaded the back of my little Prius with pumpkins.  What you cannot see is the floor behind the back seats is also loaded with more pumpkins... and, eventually, mums covered the entire back seat, as well!

It was a perfect morning....a beautiful setting... two horses playing in the background.

Personally, I bought only a few medium sized pumpkins to place on our flower cart at the end of our lane.

Perfect!  5 pumpkins for five dollars ($1 each, yes, you read that right!)

I also picked up a couple of these little uniquely colored pumpkins for the kitchen.

They don't look like real pumpkins... but they are!

I updated the living room with a few touches of seasonal color.  It's almost cold enough for an evening fire in the fireplace.

It always seems that the zinnias from summer finally reach their peak at this time... just in time for the first frost to send them into a permanent repose.

Today is mowing day (again).  The only upside to the killing frosts, to come, is the end to all of this mowing!

I often share how my days begin, but rarely share how they end.  This is the last thing I saw as we finished up evening chores last night...

The perfect ending to a perfect day!

Have a lovely weekend... and we'll be back Monday to share more farm tales!
Sending hugs!

Oh my goodness! Such a bargain! I can't blame you for loading up your car!

We are expecting the remnants of Hurricane Ian today and anticipate much rain and wind. It takes me back to all those years in Florida, dealing with hurricanes and their preparations. We are ready.

Enjoy the changing of the season. Autumn is so welcome here!

About your flowers being at their peak now...I learned a long time ago at a class at Longwood Gardens, that flower's colors intensify in the cool days and longer nights, having to do with their sugars becoming more concentrated. Now I look for and notice how every fall my flowers are even more beautiful. It wasn't just my imagination! :) Thank you for all your pictures and the beauty that they bring to my day.
Perfect Fall day on the farm! All those pumpkins! Would not find them that cheap around here anywhere.
Love the shots of the donkeys and horses. I always wanted horses but it was/is not to be. Thanks for sharing yours with us.
Beautiful night sky.

Finally figured out how to receive your daily posts.
So I am “catching up!”

Pumpkins at one dollar a piece is unheard of here.
I found some gems the other day, loving the
“color dots” appearing here and there around the yard.
Beautiful time of the year!
