Spring Break

This is how Annie felt about the snow falling yesterday...

You could swap her face for mine, as well.

One day we had beautiful tulips blooming-

the next day, they froze.

At 23 degrees, everything froze... especially me!

It is the weirdest Spring ever.

Last evening when we tucked everyone in bed, we found that our little girl runner duck and her beau, Forrest were MIA.  They were not in their house, nor in their fenced-in-yard!  Jack searched all around... no ducks anywhere.  Then, a little bit later, as he was closing up the rest of the flock in the duck house by the barn... there were two extra ducks in with the amorous drakes!  Forrest and his ducky girlfriend pulled a Houdini and escaped their yard!  Jack removed the wayward two and took them right back to their own house.  Then, the next morning, we did a perimeter inspection and secured all potential escape hatches.  Naughty ducks.  Believe me, Ducky Girl, you do not want to hang around with that band of ducky brothers!

I am taking an extended break from blogging and social media for the rest of April.  I promise I will return to writing on May 1st, and will have a lengthy blog to share with you on May 2nd.  By that time, Spring should be here to stay and I will have lots of tales and gardening goodness to share with you!  We are starting a new brood of guinea fowl in May, so that will be fun, as well!   Thanks for your understanding.  I assure you... all is well.  I am well... just treating myself to a Spring break, so to speak.

Until May 2nd... be well, and enjoy all of the goodness that comes with Spring!

Those ducks like to keep life interesting! I'm with you on the snow. We are supposed to have freeze tonight so will be covering some things. I hope this is the last of it.
Everyone needs a break from social media. Good for you to do this.
See you in May when things will hopefully be warmer!

Enjoy your lightening of "things to do today". I decided a while back to stop doing a few things I had felt compelled to do and I am so much happier. I know you will be back refreshed and ready to "tell all". We all need to tend to ourselves better.

Oh, no, not the tulips! I so admired them yesterday, being dutch they always remind me of home .. I've been covering up seedlings in my raised beds and every time I think this was the last night of frost they issue another warning! Taking a break and sitting out this weather might be a great idea.
