It was a whirlwind weekend...
most of which was spent off of the farm.
Some of Hubbs' family were here from Pittsburgh to see his nephew's
All State Orchestra concert in the city.
This orchestra was picked from high schools across the state.
They were given their three symphonic pieces on Wednesday,
practiced on Thursday and Friday,
and performed them on Saturday.
What an amazingly talented bunch of young people!
After the concert,
we headed to a local brewery...
Appalachian Brewery...
for a private guided tour by the brewmaster ( who is also one of the owners).
We were joined by more family members in the evening for a dinner
at a new restaurant that serves local faire...
whose menu items are completely from scratch....
delicious!
Cards, gifts, and kisses....
such wonderful presents for Grammie.
Then we had cake at Andy and Ashley's new home...
I made a wish and blew out the candles....
(I know....that's a whole lot of candles!)
(I know....that's a whole lot of candles!)
wishing that life could always be this good,
and that the rest of my life would be full of times just like this...
spent with those that I love.
Sunday was a quiet day at home.
Knitting in front of the fire.
Amanda made dinner for us....(so nice to not have to cook!!)
When Hubbs went out to the wood pile for wood,
he uncovered this delicate nest.
Teeny litte mouse babies...
awaiting their mother's return...
Hubbs covered them back up again.
We really don't need more mice around the house,
but these little creatures were so delicate and beautiful...
sweet and innocent...
he left them undisturbed.
(I love that about him!)
Today is my official birthday and I will be spending the day with my animal friends...
and maybe I will take a little time to do something wild and crazy!
