Yesterday's sun rose and chased away Wednesday's rains.
The animals seemed happy to bask in the sunshine.
The cold wind continued, however, causing some of the dead trees in our woods to fall.
That's the thing about farm life... there's always work to be done - both expected and unexpected. The good thing is, this tree was an old, dead, ash tree, which makes great firewood. Thankfully, Jack had just picked up his chain saw from the repair shop the day before.
While he was out clearing the driveway, I assembled gingerbread houses for Saturday's gathering.
Yesterday, I showed you one of the cutting boards that Jack had made. Yesterday's comments included a question as to whether I would put them on my Etsy shop. I hesitate to do this because of the cost of shipping. These cutting boards are very heavy which would increase shipping charges. I also wanted to show you another of Jack's projects. The live-edge wood that he used for the cutting boards had a split on one end, making it bad for a cutting board - so, instead, he used it to make a clock.
I finished our Christmas village / train platform and wanted to share it with you in the following video.

Enjoy your family festivities!
Clever of Jack to make the clock out of the split piece of wood. That wood is so gorgeous and I know it is heavy! My ex use to make clocks out of redwood burls ... another beautiful wood!
so many aspects of your life.
Your writing brightens each day !
Merry Christmas from NW Ohio.
