"Not rain, nor hail, nor snow, nor sleet
Can keep us from our favorite treat!"
Ginger and MaryAnn
We awoke to newly fallen snow yesterday morning. The four inches that had fallen before we went to sleep the previous night, were now compressed down to less than two inches with several hours worth of rain on top. The end result of this mixture? Slush... lots and lots of icy slush! For those hoping for a sled-worthy day, it was quite a disappointment. But for those hoping for inches of slush... it was perfect. (Does anyone love slush?)
Still, I must admit, it is quite lovely!
While I tended to morning chores... feeding, watering and cleaning up manure,
Jack moved as much of the slush off of our long driveway as he could.
As with all inclement weather, the donkeys demanded room service. Not a single drop of snow nor rain had touched these girls overnight. They stayed warm and toasty beneath their heat lamp in their shed.
As I opened the door to the henhouses, I heard a few mutter, "You have GOT to be kidding!"
Only the bravest souls ventured out.
I spent much of the day inside watching more snow fall outside...
re-emerging in the afternoon to take the dogs for a woodsy adventure, post-afternoon chores.
(So that we could clean the slush from the roof of the platform tent in the woods.)
A little more snow has fallen since yesterday... and our world is still wintry white, and icy!
Today is bread-baking day, again... perfect activity for a cold winter's day!
I am also going to repaint yesterday's painting project... so, my day will be a full one!

Rain mixed with it, temperature drops,
slush, ice, not so much!
