The Day The Blob Almost Swallowed My Kitchen

The best way to beat the heat is definitely in the pool!  But, why, MaryAnn - when you have a pool right next to you, do you choose the mud puddle instead?

Yesterday was baking day.  This is what greeted me in the early morning hours.

My bread dough, that I had mixed up the night before, had definitely risen.  I quickly floured the kitchen counter and went to work adding a little flour as I shaped the dough into boules.  An hour later the blob that almost ate my kitchen was turned into two lovely loaves of multigrain bread.

As the bread cooled, I made a garden quiche - with veggies from the garden...

and followed that up with a dozen fancy cinnamon rolls.

I love making sure that guests to the farm have lots of yummy, homemade treats.  I might not have mentioned that Mackenzie is also spending the rest of the week here at the farm.  Kindergarten is over and  camp starts on Monday... so for the rest of the week, it's Grammie Camp!!

Let the fun begin!
Speaking of fun... the chiclets are out and about in their yard... growing like weeds.  There'a absolutely nothing shy about this group of girls (I hope they are all girls!!).

Today is going to be chock-full of Staycation fun!  I'll pop in tomorrow for a quick chat.
Have a great day!!

❤️PS:  Happy Birthday, Mom!!❤️

Maryann made me laugh. It must be to much trouble to step into the pool.

Is that souerdough? Wow! I've tried my hand at it but I find it very hard to get the timing right. When is it ready to start/feed/wait, all very confusing. I can't believe those are the same little chicks you showed just yesterday ... they're huge!
