I am pretty sure we just made it through the last weekend of winter.
Yes, I know that spring arrived weeks ago...
but Ole Man Winter just refused to give up!
Besides awakening to temperatures in the 20's on both
Saturday and Sunday,
we even had a few snow flurries on Saturday.
I am pretty sure this crazy cold has now moved back north where it belongs.
Thankfully!
So, tell me...
have you been seeing more songbirds this spring than usual?
Because...
for some strange reason, this year we are seeing more migrating
songbirds than any year ever before.
This past weekend, whenever I would look out of a window,
I would see a Baltimore Oriole.
In the past, they have been rather shy.
I would see one or two males here and there around the farm.
This year, however, I see at least four males (as well as their mates)
at a given time in close proximity to each other-
typically hanging out at either our platform feeder-
the Oriole nectar feeder-
and even the hummingbird feeders.
We literally are inundated with colorful birds.
It's crazy.
I love it!
We had a wonderful weekend here on the farm.
I used the frigid temperatures on Saturday as an excuse to stay
indoors and work on a knitting project.
Sunday, all of our kids connected with us via Face Time.
It was great to visit with all of them...
a perfect Mother's Day given the current circumstances!
Sunday, (it took that long for the shed floor to harden)
Hubbs and I worked on the walls of the shed.
I have to say, things are really starting to shape up.
I love the floor!
I still have to trim out the windows and doors,
and build windowsills.
I may be able to begin moving things into the space
by the coming weekend.
I am going to do a video of the final room,
after everything is finished.
Stay tuned!!
Hug #2 is ready to be sent out.
It is freshly laundered and wrapped for mailing.
I will pull a random name tomorrow from comments
that you left me with the previous giveaway.
If you didn't comment then, but would like to be included,
leave me a comment today and I will add your name to the hat!
This is a small scarf/wrap that can be worn several ways.
It is just big enough to give you a little warmth over your
shoulders on a chilly day....
or, if worn with the point in the front, makes a very warm winter scarf.
Today's job is to move these two gals to one of the barn stalls
in preparation for their shearing appointment tomorrow.
It's never an easy task, getting them to the barn...
thankfully getting them back to their yard afterwards is a piece of cake.
Wish us luck!

Oh my yes, I hope the cold wintery has moved on out.
Unbelievable temperature changes . . .
I will say we have completed most of our ”get it done” springtime chores,
what with the cold putting an extra ZIP into our step.
We too have been enjoying more chirps, tweets, color than years before.
Red Breasted Grosbeak, Orioles and Gold Finches galore.
Plus some newbies I still haven’t identified.
Shed charm is certainly coming into view . . .
I enjoy watching the changes.
Love the floor pattern . . .
Is there anything you cannot do??
Love your wrap . . . perfect for the temperature slide downward!
I hope you didn’t lose any of your plantings with the frost.
We had flakes too, thankful no snow covering like some experienced.
Time NOW for SPRINGTIME and all its glory!
Happy day after Mother's Day!
(Sorry for the delete, had to correct a spelling!)

The scarf is beautiful. I can see my sister wearing it. (She likes to keep her neck covered.)
We have noticed more song birds as well, although I'm not sure Orioles make it down this far. Maybe it's that magic suet cake you're using!
Enjoy your warming trend!
The she-shed is adorable. It's going to be a great place to work out of. How neat to create a place that is your own space.
I'm sorry you didn't get a physical visit from your kids and grands for Mother's Day.
Even here at our place in Crystal Springs, MS - I have noticed a few song birds that are not normally here this year.
The equines are always a favorite for me.
Happy Monday,
Ramona from Crystal Springs, MS
Your she shed is getting done in record time! I get tired just reading every day what you have accomplished.
Still cold here in Illinois but there is hope at the end of this week.
Patty from northern IL.
it's interesting reading about your weather. Here in southeast Texas it is already air conditioning weather.
