A Weekend of Excellent Adventure

It was a weekend of excellent adventure for both my donkey girls and myself.

Who could believe that creatures with such sweet faces could be capable of such mayhem?
Don't be fooled by the innocent look...
they are rebels in disguise!

I was out in the pasture cleaning up manure Sunday afternoon.
Having entered the pasture through the donkey dry lot,
I remembered that I had not relocked the chain that keeps the gate closed.
I had merely looped it over the fence.
And since it was not a windy day, I felt there was no risk of the gate blowing open.

Apparently I was wrong.
When I finished up in the front pasture, and returned into the donkey yard,
this is what I found...

Note the small brown donkey grazing just beyond the guinea house.
Here are the events that followed...
(you may want to click on the "full screen" option in the lower right corner of the video)

As for me...
my weekend adventure included seeing one of my favorite performers on Saturday night.
I traveled an hour and a half north of us to watch this incredibly talented gal perform.

I have talked about this performer before... she is possibly one of the most talented
women I have ever heard.
She puts a gutsy, bluesy, eclectic spin on New Orleans style jazz.
The band is amazing.
Her voice... a force of nature.
Her stage presence... entrancing.
If you are lucky enough to live near one of her venues... treat yourself!
Seriously... you won't be disappointed.

As if that show wasn't enough...

I had also gotten tickets to see John Edward, the psychic medium...
(as in messages from the other side)
For this I drove an hour and a half south on Sunday.
His talk was fascinating.
One thing that surfaced during his talk...
(and one I knew you would appreciate)
is that our furry friends also join us on the other side.
It's true... all dogs go to heaven.

Yes, it was a weekend of excellent adventure
and great fun...
and not one quickly forgotten by myself or my donkey girls.

Loved the video. Those girls looked like they were having a real good time. I have often thought whether we would meet up with our animals again, one day. There sure will be a lot waiting for us!! Who knows - but it's a comforting thought.

Those mischievous girls! Always an adventure at BHA.

I got a postcard about John Edward coming this way. Not in the budget this time, but I'm glad you got to go. I've enjoyed his work for years.

Here's hoping the snow is all melting away!

Don't you hate it when your animals, donkeys, are smarter than you are! 😁😁😁
Love it...Ritz to the rescue! While we've only had one goat "excellent adventure" (which, I might add, involved some questionable teenagers on the scene...hmmm) it's always an exciting round-up!

Wow! What a busy weekend!

Sounds like a lot of fun, except for getting the girls to go back home! What would you do without ritz crackers?! ha ha!

Glad to hear that we will be able to meet up with all of our loved ones, including the furry ones! =)
