Your view and ins...I could not agree with you more! Your view and insight on animals is one of the things I so enjoy about reading your blog. As for me, we currently enjoy the companionship of 3 dogs and 2 chickens (we're city dwellers -- argh!), but I actually learned the most from a little squirrel that lived in our house with us for 4 years. Long story, but she had fallen from a tree and we ended up just having her live in the house with us. I read articles from the "experts" that said that a squirrel could never, never, never be tamed. Luckily, I didn't see that part until after we had her for a year or so. This untamable squirrel let me hold her, kiss on her, and "gobble" on her little belly. We went outside to play every day and when it was time to come in, she would let me pick her up and take her in. The capacity for love in animals is just amazing! The Woodbury'shttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03199984375439077879noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617428990857687043.post-23769080520952542392012-01-10T09:51:18.273-05:002012-01-10T09:51:18.273-05:00Those who have never experienced what an animal ha...Those who have never experienced what an animal has to offer are missing lot..I've always been suspicious of people who don't like animals..something is missing in them...You are fortunate to be able spend so much time with them and what a variety!!!This N Thathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14660035693962636210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617428990857687043.post-62983290467872561082012-01-10T09:44:51.648-05:002012-01-10T09:44:51.648-05:00Love the photos from this mornings post. I loved growing up with all the animals and their antics ,they do develope their own charcaters , personalities and feelings, even our Miggy and Harley here respond with attitude , feeling happy, or sad or even feel ill or a bit off , just like we do and they do learn emotion from us I believe that, They know if we are ticked, sad or happy and they react to it. its just not many other people then I have taken the time to see this, notice or even study it other then yourself . The song talk to the animals is so true they do understand and are vocal towards your voice and what you say Our Miggy and Harley are very vocal when we speak to them ! AWESOME ! photos and post ! I do, however, refuse to eat pork.
Right now I am sitting on the couch with a cat curled up to the left of me and a dog to the right.
Someone in blogland recently posted a video of 2 elephants who were reunited after many years of separation. (Maybe it was here?) It was so moving to see how these animals responded to each other, and after watching it no one could argue that animals don't experience emotions or have souls!

Kathy from TasmaniaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3617428990857687043.post-31832099230306896292012-01-10T04:46:10.919-05:002012-01-10T04:46:10.919-05:00They totally speak to me.
