Farm Friends

We were visited by our favorite farm friends yesterday.
Maggie and Macy (who brought the baby mallards to the farm last week) came
back for a visit accompanied by a few of their friends.

There is nothing more rewarding than sharing our farm with kids
who enjoy the outdoors and approach each activity with enthusiasm.
They love picking and eating fresh vegetables.

The animals love guests...

especially the pigs.

We visited with all of the animals and handed out generous treats.

We hiked in the woods

and found all sorts of wondrous gifts of nature.

With temperatures in the mid nineties, though, everyone was looking for a way to cool off.
The pigs took to their wading pool...

while the dogs headed for the pond.

Neither Chester nor Sam are keen on swimming,

but both of them enjoy wading out into the water and lying down to cool off.

Chester tried testing the depth...

splash, splash, splash... "this is probably far enough" he concluded.

Annie and Oakley opted for staying indoors in the air conditioning.
This kind of heat is hard on Oakley.
And Annie... just has good sense!

I'm pretty sure everybody had a good day on the farm!

They all look like they're having the time of their lives, including the animals!
What a wonderful experience for all the children and folks you allow to enjoy your farm and animals. You are truly a light in this world.
