Nose Snuzzles and Bum Nibbles

After several days of confinement in the dry lot,
the horses and donkeys were finally able to go out in the front pasture yesterday.

I hate to send them out when it is too icy.
By yesterday, though, the ice had melted enough to make navigation of the pasture possible.

The horses were quite happy for the diversion.
Annie, of course, was happy to have some playmates.

They grazed all morning and part of the afternoon on hay that I had thrown around on the ground.

Before calling them back in again, I ventured out to visit with them.

Such soft and sweet little nosies....
oh how I love snuzzling those soft noses and covering them in kissies!

Everyone came to say hi and investigate every inch of me.

See this face?...

This is how it looked as my back was turned....
and she was headed to give me a pinch on the "bum."
I was bent over giving Red a little face time.
Apparently she wanted the attention for herself!

Such a tease...nothing malicious, just a little love nibble.

And quite happy with herself afterward... see the smile?

And this is how we reward that behavior.... with a good ear scratching!
I can never be upset with these girls...they have big hearts filled with love.
It's just that sometimes they have a funny way of expressing it.
But then, that's a donkey for you.

What a beautiful set of photos! Great timing and lovely animals. I wish my girl's nips were loving, I tend to get one when she is feeling grumpy!
