All I Want For Christmas Is......

Today is the last day of Autumn.

Although, around here it's been looking wintry for weeks!

This past Saturday we were hit by a snow and ice event (more ice than snow).
You might remember that we were to have our family Christmas party on Saturday.
With ice impeding travel, we changed our plans to Sunday.

And because Sunday still felt like Saturday, I took yesterday off from blogging and pretended it was still Sunday.

(Five hats knitted in four days...one for each of the girls.)
Our party was great fun...as is all get-togethers with family.

The table was set...Christmas crackers are a family tradition.
We are so very lucky to have four generations to share the celebration.

My beautiful Mom and her beautiful great granddaughter.
We played and gifted and ate and surrounded each of those activities with lots of laughter.

Gifting bedlam
I am so lucky to have a family that always gets along splendidly.

I was so surprised this year... the kids all went together and bought me a cider press.

Now I can make my own apple cider.
We've decided that Cider Press Day will be an annual autumn event on the farm.
I can hardly wait for the "First Annual"!

My favorite days are those spent with my kids...

Mother and Daughter.  Daughter: "Help, I'm turning into my Mom!"
and grandchildren.

With the hustle and bustle of celebration behind us,
Hubbs and I will enjoy a quiet Christmas on the farm...

in the company of a few of our closest friends...

PS:  Check out my Christmas present...

All I want for Christmas is NOT:  Jury Duty!

It will not be easy to run this farm and attend Jury Duty at the same time....
so I am trying to be excused.
We'll see how that works!

What a great gift! The bonus is that it equals more quality family time. Glad everyone made it safely to the get together.
Christmas blessings to all...
It looks like a fun day for all (I see your second stocking arrived!) and there's nothing like fresh cider...can't wait to see the first annual!
So sorry, your second BOW arrived, just in time! Mary
Looks like a great time! And nice cider press -- it caught my eye right away in the photos.

Love your family pictures. So happy and so many memories formed every season. Christmas is what you make of it no matter what day. We also will be spending time with our farm friends on the "the day" and that is fine with us. They are wonderful company. The 24th is our Christmas family time..and will be happy to take it easy..lol..on the 25th.
Have a wonderful season Bev! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family from Ontario, Canada.

A cider press! How wonderful!
Did you also knit the reindeer sweaters that you and your daughter are wearing?! They are so cute!!
Dear Beverly,
Thank you for such a beautiful family post! Love all the photos of you and family. Your Mother is just beautiful. I wish I could knit that fast. Your hats turned out so sweet.
Your friendship over the years is treasured.
Wishing you and yours a joyful Christmas.
Blessings,
Penny

I love the look of your fireplace. Can I ask if those are real field stone cut down, or a store product? We are building a retirement home in the next year or two and have an abundance of various field stone/rock on our cabin property and I would love to use these if possible. I love reading your blog. Happy Holidays!
