Littles

Well, I am amazed at how quickly horses heal!
Red's "owwie" looks better every day.
And it certainly has not held him back at all.

Yesterday was the hottest day yet of this summer...
obviously not too hot for a rousing game of chase, however.

The Littles are absolutely the most joyful and playful of all our equines.

They are so precious to me...
and no matter how old they get,
they will always be my babies.

Because of the extreme heat, the horses are going out to pasture at night.

They get about 10 hours of relief from the heat and the bugs,
and come back to the barn almost comatose in the morning.
Hot afternoons make for good napping in the cooler barn.

Can you believe it?
Another Friday is here again.
And with this Friday my countdown 'til vacation begins.
We have hired a small army of family, friends and neighbors to live and work at the farm
while we spend the end of September checking off a big item on our bucket list.
Curious?  More to come....

As for this weekend... we will have Mackenzie Saturday and Sunday.
What fun!
