Random Thoughts on A Random Day

It's hard to believe that this my 2158th blog post.

I am happy that I have stuck with this for so many years.
It's just a part of my daily routine.

There are days when I have a story to share, and days filled with little moments.

At the end of every day when I sit down to write my thoughts,
I look through the day's images and am reminded of just how lucky I am to be surrounded, each day,
by so much of what I love.

Writing makes me appreciate the small moments that make up each day.
So, you see, it is as much for me as it is for you.

Having you to share this journey makes it all the sweeter, though.
The beauty of life was meant to be shared.

Love is meant to be shared.

In the past I have heard critical words about writing a blog that is filled with "sunshine and rainbows"....
that this is somehow not "realistic".

From my perspective, we are bombarded each day with the reality that is life...
to an extent beyond what we are equipped to handle.
It's no wonder there is so much depression and anger in this world.

I live a real life...with ups and downs just like anyone.
But, I choose to make this blog a force of positivity and love in a world that desperately needs it.

I wish for this place to be a brief respite from the sadness in the world.

I need a promise from you, though....

If I become boring, repetitive, etc... you will let me know
and I will retire my keyboard.
Deal?

PS....Let's talk s'more tomorrow about the sunshine and rainbows!!

PS....the homes-made marshmaloooooos turned out great!

Your blog post is amazing. I and many others have said it before that you are an inspiration. You are right as well, we all have so many ups and downs and there is so much depression in the world, so to have a beautiful respite from this and escape into your world (if only for a few minutes each day) brings happy, inspirational peace of mind - a real enjoyment! And it's not all sunshine and roses, we are here for your ups and downs and are glad to share your experiences (good or not so good). If you enjoy blogging and sharing, I certainly enjoy participating in the beauty that surrounds you and that lovely feeling (especially when you dream of owning your own land and more animals is only a dream), for you to share yours is incredible. THANK YOU. Kind regards, Louise S, Cheshire UK

I've always said my blog is for what I want to write. Same should apply to anybody that blogs. You write what makes you happy and that makes you keep blogging. I use my blog to help record what happens in my/our lives.

Otherwise, there are many things that I would forget. And, a lot of them I don't want to.

I love seeing pictures of your animals. You are a good photographer. Thanks for sharing your life, home and cute critters.

I so appreciate your focus on the positive. Reading your posts each day helps me feel hopeful that we will be able to find our dream farm someday. You just don't worry about those nay-sayers. Maybe if they read your blog, they'd feel a little bit better about their lives, and the world at large. I agree with you that there is so much attention focused on the tragedies in the world and we need to balance that out. For every act of evil, there are a hundred good deeds done. Thank you for uplifting my day and giving hope to so many folks. Continued blessings...

Homemade marshmallows? OMGosh, you are too much! ;0D

AAACCK!!!!!! NEVER RETIRE FROM THE KEYBOARD, BEV!!!!! Those who accuse you of boring, or "unrealistic" sounding posts, um, well, I have a message for them: READ SOMETHING ELSE. I completely agree with you that what we focus on, increases. So I choose to focus on the GOOD and the GREAT, OF which your blog is one of the great parts of how I start my day! You have lifted me up, made me laugh, entertained AND informed me. How anyone can bash that, is beyond me. I love your pictures, you animals, the love for your family, your philosophies of how YOU choose to live your life and what legacies you want to leave behind. Yes, life IS about sharing love - and while it is sad that we don't all get that, I do not apologize for getting it and neither should you! The dark is as necessary as the light. So, in a way, maybe those negative comments are a good thing: they help you (and me) be more grateful for the GOOD and the LOVELY.
I salute you and your blog!!!!!!!!!!! Karla from Coal City, IL
I have said before that when I read blogs, I always save this blog for last because you save the best for last.
When I saw those animal pictures, I actually got tears in my eyes and thanked God for creating those precious, funny looking, loving, hairy faces for us to enjoy.

Please don't ever change your blog. Positive places to visit are in such short supply these days. Coming here is like a mini-vacation. Thank you for sharing.

OH NO! Please don't leave your blog or change your positive attitude about it. I only found it about 3 months ago and I just love it. Love seeing and hearing about all you animals. It's so hard for me to find "Keeper" blogs like yours - I've only about 11 of them. Positive, lots of photos - especially of animals and nature - everyday or nearly everyday. Wholesome enjoyment of the real, natural life. What I like doing now is everyday after I read your blog post I click on the three related posts and read those too as a catch-up to your blog.

I'm a couple of days late in reading this blog since I've starting painting every room in our house, but I needed to comment. I feel so fortunate to consider you a "friend" just as Junebug said. And even more so since I had a chance to meet you in person and see your farm in all its loveliness and to meet your sweet critters. I will be sad when the day comes that you no longer want to blog, but until then, you'll have a happy reader in this girl. Have a great weekend!

Thank you for your blog, and since we still have freedoms in our country continue as you wish, I will read and enjoy! I enjoy your cooking, baking, sewing, garden, planting seeds, projects, and the daily care and the drama of of the animals. I am sad when animals pass, and thrilled when new ones arrive. I appreciate the joy you find in your daily routine and happy you share your joy for your readers to also enjoy.

Precisely why I continue my personal blog style . . .
Doom and gloom surrounds us . . .
I like my focus on the "little bright spots" in my life . . .
so as to keep some balance with what is happening in the wider world.
Visit with you and the farm family bring me your "bright spots!"
I love it . . . please stay . . .

And I forgot to mention . . .
Congratulations on your 2000+ posts . . .

Well done my friend . . .
And each post . . . happy . . .
I like my visits with you!
