For The Love...

Of Watermelon!

According to Ginger and MaryAnn, there is nothing more refreshing on a hot afternoon!

We are in the midst of a heat wave.
It's been very hot and sunny... with no rain.
So, farm chores are done early morning and late evening.
I've been doing a bit of sewing and weaving during the hot hours of the day.

How are you weathering the heat?

Good Morning! I hope you are feeling better. I just want to remind you that if you have not already done this, PLEASE toss your toothbrush. That could be re-infecting you with the virus. Have one for now when you are trying to get over the virus, and then toss that one for a new one when you are all better. Praying that you have your health back soon!

We basically hibernate during the summer season, only venturing out early mornings and perhaps around 8 p.m. for a bike ride. Watermelon and cantaloupe help tremendously! Have you ever made watermelon lemonade? Scrumptious!

Our weather here in Northern California is psycho this summer. We had a two week period of 108 degree weather, then two week period of 90 degree weather, very cool mornings and evenings. This weekend we start a new wave of 100 degree weather. My flowers tend to love the 90 degree weather. But of course we have zero humidity. Sure wish we had some wild thunderstorm come along.

Thanks for the cute video of the pigsters eating the melon. So darling. You sound like you are not quite over your virus yet. Hope you'll be feeling better soon. Of course I'm sure this heat doesn't help either. Hopefully next week will be cooler! Take care!

Weathering the HOT . . . so far it has been ok . . .
Not sure how the 90+ will be though for the rest of the week!
